04/12/2019 - 4:45 pm to 5:09 pm - Writing diary number 35.
I still
couldn't stop at 34 articles on my blog, I felt compelled to write one 35th and
last. I had the idea of talking about life in Spain, the tapas, my family's
visit to Murcia, the nice weather, but I wanted something a little less self-centred.
Moreover, we are precisely 20 days away from Christmas Eve and I love this
period, so it was impossible for me not to dedicate a little bit of my blog to
it.
First of
all, in this period, I like the atmosphere. It's as if most people forgot their
worries, that everyone was smiling and waiting for the celebration. The
atmosphere arrives thanks to the Christmas market, the films on television, the
clothing and also the numerous decorations. I was surprised to see that in
Spain decorations and markets arrive late, in my hometown (as in many in
France) all this starts to happen between November 10 and 20. I love the
arrival of this period that illuminate our cities and relieve each individual
from the harshness of winter.
Secondly, I like everything that can be eaten
that is special and appetizing. Around this time, it is colder, so we take
advantage of it to eat warm and comforting meals. In France, in the middle of
winter, we eat "raclette", "fondue",
"tartiflette" (a lot of fat made from cheese and delicatessen). But
for Christmas Eve and Day some things are more traditional like: turkey,
"foie gras", smoked salmon, toast, dolphins potatoes, vegetable purée,
ice bucket, clementines, etc... These are meals that can really be associated
with Christmas and are really tasty. Personally, my mother tries new meats
every Christmas Eve, so I've already tasted ostriches, kangaroos, wild boars,
rhinos and crocodiles. But this period is also magical, because around these
meals or gifts, it allows each family to bring these members to reunite and
enjoy them together.
Finally,
this year this celebration has a special resonance in my heart. Indeed, for the
Christmas holidays, I will have the opportunity to return to France, to see all
my family and friends and to breathe a little bit after three and a half months
of work and living alone in Murcia. I'm really looking forward to it, I'm even
counting the days before my plane takes off. Of course, it would be better to
focus on the end of the blog or the December 17 exam on writing an essay, but
to be honest, my head thinks more about this great comeback that is getting
closer day after day.
I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year,
everyone should be very happy during this beautiful time.
