There is an
event that has been very special in my life. It took place on May 5, 2018, the
exact day I passed my contest to enter my higher school in France. In my head
it was a decisive day, I knew that my whole future was at stake and that I had
worked hard to make it a success. Nonetheless, I also knew that I had little
chance of succeeding, knowing that this contest was very difficult and that we
were a total of 2,800 candidates from all over France. I lifted my ball in my
stomach, I kept it on the journey and the wait was terrible. In addition, when
I arrived, I saw candidates with sweaters where they had quotes on their backs,
such as "I'm going to win", "I did a private preparation, I know
everything perfectly", etc... I tried to stay focused and do my test for
myself and especially not to have any regrets after all the work I did. I had
to do a very difficult language test (especially because I never had any
language skills), then there was a precise exam on a book that we had to read
and analyze beforehand, and finally a four-hour essay on an open question. It
seemed like an eternity to me and I came out of that contest, as if I had run a
marathon. The worst part was that after everyone asked me how it went, when I
thought I had failed and I just wanted to forget about it. After that, I had to
wait more than two months to get the results. Fortunately the answer was
positive and I was very happy. I would remember this moment all my life, but
for me, the day and the special event remains the contest, because everything
started on this day and today if I live all of this, it is also thanks to this
contest. I see my studies as something very important and so I will remember
this event forever.
