Discrimination is the act of treating an individual negatively or even aggressively on the basis of origin, sex, race, disability, etc. I find this extremely serious, and even I don't understand how anyone can act like that, especially in this time. The one that affects me the most is sexism, because as a woman I feel directly concerned and moreover it is a subject that has always interested me and against which I have always wanted to fight. I still don't understand how it is possible for discrimination to be institutionalised, for example with men's salaries being higher than women's for the same job. Moreover, that some men may still believe that they are superior to women in 2019, I don't understand it so much I think it's ridiculous. For me, a woman can be strong, autonomous, courageous, ambitious, hardworking, applied, creative, as much or even more than a man.
Secondly, I find discrimination unacceptable, because in general, individuals who discriminate are very far from those they judge and know nothing about their situation. We often have the cliché of the conservative old white man who criticizes a young man of colour, but because of the use of these discriminations, the young man of colour is a thousand times more valuable thanks to his open-mindedness and his openness to the world. I sincerely believe that discrimination is very "stupid", today we have experienced wars, historical atrocities, tensions, it is time to understand that being afraid of others does not lead to anything good and is only based on social prejudices. I think that future generations would live a hundred times better if discrimination were to be reduced. A colour, a gender, a weight, an age, a height, a dress, a disability, an ethnic origin, will never define who we are as a whole and should never be used as a means of comparison and thus of judgments.
