Being on time
When I read the subject "being on time", I
directly thought of the opposite, that is to say the delay. First of all, I have to say, that I hate the
delay. As far back as I can remember, even when I was a child, I already hated people
or things which arrived with delay. I see three explications for this.
The
first is that, myself, I really like being on time and I’m always on time. Often,
I’m even in advance. Then, when it's the other people who are late, I feel like
I'm wasting my time. For example, I have a friend who is always late and when
we fixed a schedule to do an activities or for see us, and that she’s late of
twenty or thirty minutes, I say me that these precious minutes together are
lost forever. Moreover, I believe that if she really wanted to share time and
enjoy with me, she would have organize herself to be on time.
The second reason I hate being late is because for me, if
there is a schedule, it's for a good reason. If it didn't matter, we wouldn't
have set schedules and we'd do what we want and when we want. A fixed schedule
is the result of an entire organization and it is important to respect it. Another
example, if a doctor give you an appointment at a fixed hour, it’s because
after he will have other appointments with other patients. Therefore, if you
are late and you overtake on the next appointment, it means that an other sick
personn should wait to be cured, because you are late and you don’t respect the
fixed schedule.
Finally, I suppose that if others can keep to a schedule,
there is no reason why you can't. I believe that if we organize ourselves and
take account of all the factors that will be affected by our delay, then there
is no reason why we should be late. These are the three reasons why I deeply
hate those who are often or always late.
