An accident

I have never had a serious accident in my life and fortunately, because I think that it must be a very difficult trial. Moreover, today we hear a lot about cars accidents, people who get hurt or who take big risks. Then all of us are conscious that risks are always here and everywhere around us, and that we have to be careful to avoid the danger. After I believe that we don’t always have to think about the problems that could happen, or we'll be obsessed with it, and we are not going to do anything anymore. For example, a lot of people told me to be careful before go away alone for an Erasmus in Spain, and some told me they would never have dared. But if I had only thought of the danger or accidents that may occur, I could never have lived this experience and I would have missed something great.

Even if I think that we should enjoy and not always thought about the danger, I remind of my first accident. This one show well that accidents always arrived when we expect the least. I was eight or nine years old, and I was skiing with my parents (because in France I live close to the mountains). I was going down a track very fast, because it wasn’t a difficult one, and at the bottom of this track there was an other track which crossed it horizontally. And I saw an other young girl arriving really fast, but I didn’t have consciousness of danger and I said me that there were few chance for we arrived at the intersection of the two tracks at the same time. The other girl must have thought the same thing, because neither of us has slowed down and we hit each other with a lot of speed. She was a little older and heavier than me, so I was ejected and I hurt myself very badly. When I think back to this accident, I think it was a small accident, but fortunately, after a week and a session at the osteopath's office, everything came back in order. It taught me a lesson and now I modulate my speed whether I'm skiing, driving a car or using my bike.
